The 33-year-old right-hander Hafeez followed up his tons in the first and third one-day internationals with another masterful performance in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday as an unbeaten 113 led his side to overall victory with one match to spare.

The 29-year-old paceman Gul had returned on Sunday from a nine-month injury lay-off to lead Pakistan to a one-sided 113-run victory in the third match of the series.

And he was at it again here, ripping through the Sri Lanka top order with match figures of 3-37 off seven overs to reduce the tourists at one stage to 36-3.

The fifth and final match of the series takes place on Friday.
