Wiki Loves Earth 2015 has released the list of winners of the 2nd International Photography Competition. Good news for Pakistanis is that it is the picture of Lower Kachura Lake, taken by Zaeem Siddiq, which got the first place in 2015 competition. Lower Kachura Lake is one of the most popular destinations in Central Karakoram National Park, Skardu Pakistan.

It was the second photography competition that was held by Wiki Loves Earth in which photographers of 26 countries participated including Pakistan. The contest has been closed now and the results are out and Pakistani photo emerged as the winner.

In 2015, almost 8,500 photographers of 26 countries participated that sent over 100,000 photos till the month of May 2015. From Pakistan side, there were 1,500 contestants that submitted 11,000 photograph. This makes the Pakistan 4th largest in term of submission and 2nd largest in term of participants.

For the knowledge of readers, the idea of Wiki Loves Earth was kicked off in Ukraine in 2013 that got the practical shape in 2014 in which 15 countries participated. Now the participated countries has reached to the 26.

The jury that declared the 16 photos the most beautiful photos in 2015, was Dmytro Balkhovitin (Ukraine), Matthew Buck (Great Britain), Dietmar Bartz (Germany), Walaa Abdel Manaem (Egypt), Alex Wang (USA), Katerina Zareva-Simeonova (Bulgaria), Zeynel Cebeci (Turkey), Susanne Plank (Austria) and Yathin Krishnappa (India).
